Garage Floor Coatings · Forest Lake, MN · Est. 2003
Forest Lake is the largest city in northern Washington County, at I-35 and Highway 61, on the lake it takes its name from. It is the point where the metro thins out into acreage. We install polyurea + polyaspartic floor coatings for Forest Lake homeowners: diamond-ground prep, custom flake colors, 1–2 day install, written 15-year warranty. 1970s through 2000s suburban development around the lakes, an older downtown core, and a large surrounding band of rural acreage where detached shops and pole buildings are as common as garages.
Garage Floor Coatings in Forest Lake
Forest Lake is where the suburbs run out, and the concrete follows. Inside town the housing is mostly 1970s through 2000s with conventional attached two and three-car garages on slabs that grind cleanly. Outside it, on the acreage toward Scandia, Columbus and Wyoming, the detached shop and pole building is normal: a heated or unheated outbuilding with a large slab, used for equipment, a hobby shop, or storage. Those are bigger floors than a garage and they take harder use, which is what polyurea is for. Forest Lake also gets less heat-island moderation than the inner suburbs, so its slabs cross freezing more times a winter, and freeze-thaw is what turns a hairline crack into a spall.
Forest Lake garages inside the city are mostly 1970s-2000s attached two and three-car slabs that grind clean and coat quickly. Outside the city, on acreage toward Scandia, Columbus and Wyoming, the job is as often a detached shop or pole building with a much larger slab and harder use. Forest Lake sits far enough out that its concrete crosses freezing more times a winter than inner-suburb concrete, so door-line spalling shows up earlier here.
Why we don't install epoxy in Forest Lake
Most epoxy floor installers learned the trade 15–25 years ago, when epoxy was the only game in town. The chemistry has moved on. Modern polyurea and polyaspartic resins outperform epoxy on every measurable axis that matters for a garage. We made the switch in 2010 and never looked back. Here's what you'd run into with an epoxy install, straight, no marketing fluff:
That's the why. Polyurea costs roughly the same as a professional epoxy install ($7–9 per square foot for a flake system, fully warrantied), and it outlasts the epoxy floor by a factor of 10. There's no scenario where epoxy is the better choice for a Wisconsin garage. So we don't install it.
Forest Lake Pricing
We post pricing because you deserve to know if we're in your budget before we drive out. Every number below is for our standard polyurea + polyaspartic flake system, fully installed, warrantied, and including diamond-ground prep + crack repair. (For reference: a professional epoxy install runs about the same, $5–8 / sq ft, but doesn't last. The math is on polyurea's side.)

Per scope
Final number depends on slab condition (cracks, spalling, soft patches), the color blend you pick, and any non-standard repairs. Send four photos and Dave will text back a real number the same day. No quote-bot, no salesperson, no follow-up calls. Just an honest install price.
The 6-step install
Same checklist on every floor. The reason our coatings still look new at year ten when the cheap stuff peeled in year two.
